We have entered the Season of Epiphany. The name “Epiphany” is derived from a Greek word meaning ‘manifestation’ or ‘appearing’. Epiphany Day (January 6) commemorates the visit of the Three Wise Men, the Baptism of Jesus by John in the Jordan River, and Jesus’ first recorded miracle, the changing of water into wine. All of these events are considered manifestations of the power and presence of the incarnate Lord. During Epiphany we will commit ourselves to Jesus in the Center—of our lives and our world.
Matthew’s Sermon Themes for Epiphany are:
January 14: Union with Jesus
January 21: Following Jesus
January 28: Freedom in Jesus
February 4: Descent with Jesus
February 11: Proclaim Jesus
Join us this winter and bring a guest. Would you please consider Jesus as the center?
